@rubyflow @rubylearning requiring signup for a class or vote for a Shorty to get ebook makes it NOT free (and requires a twitter account) :P

Not to mention that you have to have a twitter account that predates the Shorty voting period, or your vote doesn’t count.

So now is it not only not free, but only certain people are eligible.

plus… buying votes is stupid. why would i support this?

Just for the record, this isn’t to do with RubyFlow. I don’t really like this idea either, but Satish is free to run it.

Technically it’s free because you don’t need to buy or spend any money; it’s just not a giveaway. Indeed, it’s their prerogative to do this.

I really liked RubyLearning, and I think they should win because they’re a great resource. That said, I kinda hope they don’t win the Shorty just because they’re buying the votes.

This is kind of low. Even though I want the PDF I’m not going to do it.
