Major New Release of Gollum Wiki

Gollum is a lightweight Ruby wiki system that uses git as a backend. It started life as the engine behind GitHub wikis, but the open source version has since evolved significantly, leading to the recent release of version 5.0. This includes large performance gains, and many much requested features, such as:

  • BibTeX and citation support
  • YAML frontmatter (like jekyll)
  • Editable sections
  • A brand new layout based on GitHub’s Primer.

We believe that this release means Gollum is now a mature wiki system suited for a variety of use cases, and we hope it will prove useful as a documentation and collaboration tool for the Ruby community and beyond.

See here for all the new features and a guide to migrating your wiki from previous versions of Gollum.
