I've often seen people say that mixins simplify their code. In my latest blog post, I demonstrate that while mixins may make things more DRY, they don't make it more simple.
I just posted a new blog post. New years' is about reflection, and here's some of my reflections on how Rails could improve.
I just blogged some fun custom Markdown rendering code with Redcarpet. Normally, I'm all about best practices, but this code is just quick and dirty!
I just blogged about Cucumber and the rel attribute. It's really more about web standards and automated testing, though.

If you've ever wondered how to submit patches to Ruby, I just posted Contributing to Ruby's Documentation to my blog. The existing guidelines were a bit unclear, so I wanted to clarify them for anyone who's looking to submit documentation before the feature freeze of 1.9.3.
RMU just announced that Steve Klabnik will be their first visiting teacher.

Visiting teachers have no official position at RMU, but will be participating in advising students, sharing their experiences, and just generally being available as another resource for those taking RMU courses.
