Can we be told the editors and IDEs compared prior to or without listening to the podcast?
Good question Pistos!
I listened to most of it. I heard a lot about RubyMine, TextMate, a little emacs, and a little aptana. I probably missed some. I didn’t really hear anything new. Big IDE’s are heavy and use a lot of memory. They said several times that they missed refactoring support in IDE’s as some came from Java backgrounds and other .Net. I personally don’t think that will ever happen because the needs when refactoring Ruby code are quite different from the needs in Java and C#. Maybe I’ve just never worked on a large enough Ruby project.
For the record, I use gVim much like http://akitaonrails.com/2009/01/04/rails-on-vim-in-english
As quite many use TextMate, Allan has posted news on TextMate 2 after a long time of silence. Bottom line: The end (release) is in sight, it’s not derailed or anything and more news will be out in the upcoming weeks and months.

@MattHulse
I think we also touched upon NetBeans, Arcadia and some JavaScript/CSS tools as well.
Someone in the Rubyology Google Group said that RubyMine has a lot of refactoring stuff we mentioned we were missing, so I’m definitely checking it out.
