RubyFlow The Ruby and Rails community linklog

New RubyFlow Design + Features

Yes, RubyFlow is sporting a new design - shaking things up. 2 main new features: 1) profile editing, 2) posts and comments show avatars based on your Gravatar. To have the avatar show, you need to edit your profile and supply your Gravatar-enabled e-mail. There are a few more minor tweaks also.

In case you’re curious, one of the new features I’m working on is a bookmarklet so you can more easily add stuff to RubyFlow. There’s still a lot of good Ruby news that’s not coming past us here so I was thinking.. why don’t I bother to come and post it? And.. it’s because it’s an effort - so I think a bookmarklet will help resolve that because I’m used to using del.icio.us all the time that way already :)

Looks like I need to improve he iPhone version too..!

Nice addition.

Looks great, Peter…. but yeah, the mobile experience is not 100% :)

Bah!

I’m sick of seeing all your ugly mugs, everywhere!

I like it. For starters, it fits in my narrow browser child window width, something I mumbled about with your previous site redesign. ;)

There doesn’t seem to be any obvious explanation for the numbers besides people’s names – I can only assume it is a karma rating. Perhaps this could be explained some place(s)? Like the profile page, at least. Or maybe even on hover.

Pistos: I think it’s the number of posts you have submitted.

It’s the number of posts for now, though I’ll probably improve this. I’m not a massive fan of karma for this site - though it works well elsewhere - but I’ll keep thinking about whether this is worthwhile info to share or not. Of course, I’ll listen to any ideas other people have too.

Good Job!

Just rolled out iPhone improvements. It should look a lot better on the iPhone now.

Great job, much appreciated!!

Looks great, thanks!
